SBI supports Mumbai Police ‘Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign’

Mumbai, December 14, 2015: SBI has partnered with Mumbai police for ‘Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign’ today in Mumbai in the presence of Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman, State Bank of India and Shri. Ahmed Javed, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai.

On the occasion, Smt. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman said “We are very happy to support Mumbai Police ‘Cyber Crime Awareness Campaign 2015’. We have implemented state of the art Security OperatingCentre (SOC) for monitoring of IT infrastructure. We also have obtained ISO 27001 certifications on information security. We have implemented biometric solution in our bank to strengthen security”

Chairman further added, each person having phones and other related gadgets must chip in with his/her contribution by taking all possible precautions in relation to sharing of information, more so of financial nature to ward against possible cyber-crimes. She also harped on the importance of not opening unsolicited mails which could more of phishing nature. The campaign against cyber-crimes is a collaborative effort wherein everybody can play a very effective role.

Ahmed Javed, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai emphasized, “There is a need to create awareness amongst all stake holders, which includes professionals, students, elderly and all users of smart phones and netizens about the concept of cyber security so as to create cyber secure ecosystem

K. M. M. Prasanna, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mumbai said, “Users of social media should use their discretion with due care and caution while sharing information online. People should never share any personal details either on phone or online with anyone
