Santosh Kumar Singh, IPS of 2000 batch M P cadre, has taken the charge as fifth DIG/SSP of Bhopal urban today afternoon, out going DIG Dr. Raman Sinh Sikarwar gave him the charge at DIG office. Dr. Raman Singh Sikarwar will be taking the charge as DIG Ujjain most probably today evening at Ujjain.

Santosh Kumar Singh has been credited with one of the most influential and strict IPS officers during his services, law breakers are scared of him. in his past posting Santosh Singh has taken some excellent initiatives like Crime Watch in the city which has brought down crime significantly. The initiative has also brought a sudden change in traditional policing. He had tried to bring in a digitalized system of networking and sourcing. Even the complainants were rest assured as their identity was never revealed.
