Mumbai, April 26, 2019: JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust) the number one container Port in India, today inaugurated its new Container Terminal Data Centre by the hands of the Chairman, Sanjay Sethi, in the august presence of Neeraj Bansal, Deputy Chairman, JNPT, HODs, senior officials and stakeholders of JNPort. The new Data Centre is equipped with the state–of-the-art technical infrastructure and it a significant move towards seamless integration of technology into Port operations, in order to be a future ready Port. JNPT is constantly looking at enhancing their operational efficiency to provide quality service and ease of doing business for the EXIM community. Speaking on the inauguration of the Data Centre,Sanjay Sethi, Chairman, JNPT said, “It is imperative for Ports to integrate new technology trends and automation into their processes to stay relevant and connected in this digitalized global business environment. But the backbone of these automated services is a robust and efficient Data System network providing real time data-support and enhancing the operational efficiency. Our new Container Terminal Data Centre will also play the same role in our Port modernization and digitalization of services, which will not only benefit the EXIM community but also drive our next phase of transformation.” The new Container Terminal Data Centre houses a new server room equipped with Smart-racks with In-Row cooling system for Critical ICT equipment and redundancy built-in. They will also track real time monitoring of critical Data Centre parameters, remotely (24×7) through Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Software. The Data Centre has an efficient variable refringent flow (VRF) air conditioning system for the workspace area which will significantly reduce the carbon foot print. The container tracking data centre is one of the key initiatives underway at JNPT under the ease of doing business as an effort towards making it among the top container ports across the world.
