In a major technological push, JNPT launches Mobile App- JNP-CPP and eWallet for Centralized Parking Plaza

April 28, 2021: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s premier container port, in a major push and with a vision of going digital, launched the Mobile App – JNP-CPP and eWallet for Centralized Parking Plaza (CPP). It was launched in the virtual meeting of all stakeholders / transporters today, by Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPT in the presence of Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Deputy Chairman, JNPT.

The JNP-CPP App will facilitate the users to have access to live data of CPP operation like details of waiting Tractor Trailers, access to details of 12 hours TT movement, and downloading of required data pertaining to TT movement in excel format. JNP-CPP that works on desktop as well is a progressive app, designed to combine the best features of mobile apps and the mobile web such as speed and offline usage, without downloading anything.

The eWallet will reduce cash transactions, helping Government initiative of “Go Digital”, cashless transactions for drivers at Canteen and Dormitory, details of wallet transactions are updated via SMS and Email facility. Issue of GST invoices is possible with eWallet.

Speaking on the launch, JNPT Chairman,Sanjay Sethi, IAS said, “We launched this Mobile App and eWallet to provide the much needed real-time visibility across the supply chain. JNPT has been operational throughout the lockdown to cater to essential services and the port authorities have been following all guidelines to ensure the safety of its workforce. This initiative will further help JNPT to serve the EXIM community and keep the operations up and running.”

JNPT is the only port in India which has planned for a facility of this scale, that is spread across 45 hectares and has a capacity to park 1,538 tractor trailers. CPP is a key initiative to streamline the traffic movement and improve the port efficiencies using IT services, at the same time provide convenience facilities and amenities at very nominal rates to truck drivers who travel long distances to reach the Port.

These measures will help the port to be at par with technologically advanced global ports augmenting JNPT’s stature to be among the leading container ports in the world.
