Strange but true. At a time when most organisations have been struggling to save there existence post Covid, Coir Board has achieved a 80 per cent growth* in domestic marketing of Coir Products. And this could be done due to innovative thinking of D. Kuppu Ramu who joined joined as chairman Coir Board in July 2021. Due to his out of the box thinking he has has turned the fortunes of the organisation in just eight months by starting activities in non traditional areas like Gujarat, Maharashtra, North-East, Odisha etc. it may be pointed out here, that Coir Board bagged a gold medal for his best performance, during the India’s biggest Mega show i.e. India International Trade Fair 2021, New Delhi.

In line with the new initiatives of the Government of India to make the administration process more effective, speedier and transparent, Coir Board took several steps during the last one year. The steps initiated were mainly in the areas of Digital India Programme, System Improvement, and Development Oriented Programmes.
