Solicitor General, Ranjit Kumar quits Tushar Mehta may succeed him?

Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar,the country’s highest legal official, has resigned citing personal reasons.
Ranjit Kumar who was the senior advocate was appointed Solicitor General in 2014, soon after the Narendra Modi government came to power at the Centre.
Kumar said that he has resigned due to personal reasons. He said that he has family issues to attend to and had to resign because he couldn’t give time to as required by the office of the Solicitor-General.
Rumours are such as Additional Solicitor-General Tushar Mehta is now the front-runner for the post as he has already been leading the arguments in many cases with great political implications
