‘Rajbhasha Unnayak Samman’ awarded to Chairman SAIL , Department of Official Language (Rajbhasha)

New Delhi, 14th December, 2020: India’s largest steel making Company – Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Chairman, Anil Kumar Chaudhary was awarded with the ‘Rajbhasha Unnayak Samman’ for his extensive contribution in the propagation of use of the official language – Hindi, during a Rajbhasha seminar organized today, on 14 December at SAIL’s Corporate Office at Lodi Road. He received the award, a citation and shield, from Dr Sumeet Jerath, Secretary, Department of Official Language, Home Ministry, who was the chief guest of the program. Shri PK Tripathi, Secretary, Steel was the special guest and the program was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Steel, Directors and other senior officers of SAIL. The other Plants and Units of SAIL also joined the program through online mode.

While receiving the award, Chaudhary thanked the SAIL collective for augmenting the use of official language in Company’s various workings. He said, “SAIL, the largest steel making Company in the Country, has always encouraged the use of Hindi and understands its responsibility towards propagating the use of official language. It is one of our priorities to facilitate the progressive use of the language. SAIL continuously undertakes various workshops on Hindi, organizes seminars and training programs for broadening the use of Hindi by its employees.”

Dr. Sumeet Jerath, Secretary, Department of Official Language, while praising the efforts of Shri Chaudhary said, “SAIL regularly encourages the use of Hindi through various programs. It is visible in wide usage of official language in its various Plants & Units and in its media, social media and other platforms. For this, I congratulate Chairman, SAIL for his leadership and his team”. On the occasion, he spoke on the importance of ‘10 Ps’ which stand for prerna, protsahan, prem, puraskar, prashikshan, prayog, prachar, prasar, prabandhan and prayas which are essential pillars for propagating the use of official language further.

PK Tripathi, Secretary, Steel, highlighted the importance of seminars, workshops and training programs for propagation of use of official language. He said, “These programs are very helpful in creating a conducive environment for the use of Hindi in our day-to-day work. The ideas shared in today’s seminar would be effective in creating a positive impact on the use of official language”.
