Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s brother-in-law Sanjay Singh Masani joined the Opposition Congress on Saturday. Sanjay Singh is the brother of Chouhan’s wife Sadhna Singh. He joined the Congress in the presence of former Union minister and PCC chief Kamal Nath and campaign committee chief Jyotiraditya Scindia. “Madhya Pradesh needs Nath not Shivraj, who has been chief minister for 13 years,” Sanjay told reporters in New Delhi. He also accused the BJP of promoting dynasty politics. This comes a day after the ruling BJP released its first list of 177 candidates for the single-phased Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh on November 28. It chose to field 24 ministers and dropped 34 MLAs including three ministers. The Chief Minister will contest from Budhini. The party did not mention when names of remaining 53 candidates will be announced.
