With the encouragement of National Championship title in Water Sports, MP Sports Department seems up and in full swing to promote sports in the state for national and international level, MP Sports Department is eyeing on XVIII Asiad Games, to be hosted in Indonesia in 2018, MP Sports Department all set to produce outperforming talent in the next Asian Games which can raise the name of India and Madhya Pradesh in the world of sports, taking the accounts of water sports which has been an strong front of MP Sports department, all the necessary steps are being taken to facilitate the water sports facilities amenities to be provided for the players, Since Bhopal hosts all India level water sports events on regular bases, water sports like Sailing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Flyboard, Parasailing etc, therefore in order to expand the present jetty at boat club Bhopal which is about 25 years old MP Sports dept. is engaged to expand the present old and small jetty into a large one which can facilitate national level and international level sports activities in state capital Bhopal, however some social activists of Bhopal have recently criticized the expansion plan of the jetty at the bank of Upper Lake which is also called the life line of Bhopal, according them any further construction will pollute the lake, when contacted on this, the authorities of MP Sports department stated that before taking up the expansion plan of jetty the department has taken all prerequisite permissions from all the concern authorities including wetland water conservation act 1947, Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board, The Environmental Planning & Coordination Organisation and the impact assessment is done. According to the authorities the expansion has been designed in a way that will cause any effect to the lakes but it will give a boost lakes popularity and water sports actives in the city.
