Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal is the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd. (NBCC), is a blue-chip Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Urban Development, with consolidated revenue of INR 5000 Crore. Listed with both the Stock Exchanges, the company’s unique business model has today, made it stand out as a leader in its own right in the construction sector with more than INR 20000 Crore Order Book in hand and counting.

Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal joined NBCC on March 1, 1985 and subsequently succeeded as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) on April 1, 2013. Before taking over the charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Dr. Mittal was Director (Projects) since December 5, 2011. Dr. Mittal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, now a Deemed University. He has been conferred “Doctor of Philosophy”(Honoris Causa) by the Chancellor, Singhania University, Rajasthan, by virtue of his attaining eminence in the field of Civil & Construction Engineering. Doctorate was bestowed upon him in the Annual Convocation held in November, 2013. His knowledge and expertise in the field is manifested by many landmark projects he has undertaken and successfully executed. As CMD, Dr. Mittal oversees policy and strategic decision making of NBCC.

Dr. Anoop Kumar Mittal have been proved as turn-a-rounder for NBCC as there have been numerous milestones that NBCC has achieved under his leadership.

Some of which are:

NBCC made drinking water available to the East & South Delhi residents by constructing the 270 Cusec Raw Water Pipeline from Muradnagar (U.P.) to Sonia Vihar (New Delhi).

NBCC led the pioneering work of constructing the first Metro Station in New Delhi at Seelampur. Since the station had the best aesthetic fabrications, it was chosen as the venue for inaugurating the first Delhi Metro operation by the then Prime Minister of India in the year 2003.

Various Solid Waste Management projects in numerous air-field towns across the country and Defence Housing projects have been steered by NBCC.

BCC completed the breakthrough project of re-development of Motibagh Nagar by commercial exploitation of 4 acres of land from the 123.49 acres earmarked for this project. The successful and timely implementation of re-development work at New Moti Bagh, New Delhi, has inspired Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Govt. of India, to recently handover the massive re-development works under GPRA at East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi as well as Netaji Nagar, Thyagraj Nagar and Kasturba Nagar, New Delhi.

NBCC launched its IPO in 2012 and got the Company listed in BSE & NSE.

NBCC achieved Mini Ratna Schedule A Status.

Dr. Mittal is equally committed towards CSR activities to impart education, training and social awareness especially with regard to the rural populace, the disadvantaged, backward class, minority communities etc. Amongst many others, the CSR wing of NBCC is having training operations spread across ten states in India with more than 45 training centres. Around 400 youths are being trained under this training initiative. MoU has been signed with different organizations to disburse Scholarship for girl children and students in Bihar and Mizoram. This is a merit-cum-means Scholarship Scheme wherein girl students
would be given preference.

SCOPE award in the category of Best Growing Company in Construction and Infrastructure is another feather in the cap of NBCC. This prestigious award was given away by the Honourable President of India. Awarded in November 2014, New Delhi.
