Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel the Chhattisgarh state is on the path of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi, A resolution to follow the path of Mahatma Gandhi was passed in a special session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly held on October 2–3, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

While five important schemes – viz. Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyaan, Chief Minister Haat-bazaar Clinic Scheme, Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, Universal PDS Scheme and Chief Minister Ward Office Scheme – were launched in the assembly premises, various new initiatives for public welfare were also announced on the occasion.

Add to it, thousands of children took out ‘Prabhat Pheri’ on the theme of ‘Bachcha-Bachcha Gandhi’ on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

Besides, with the inauguration of ‘Nahar Satyagrah Sthal Memorial Inscription’, a weeklong ‘Gandhi Vichar Padyatra’ has started from October 2. It is led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel according to whom, “Imported nationalism depends upon dividing the people and disregarding any kind of disagreement. Mahatma Gandhi’s nationalism is the idea of unity and integrity of the nation”.

The Padyatra, officials said, commenced from village Kandel of district Dhamtari, a place graced by the presence of Bapu during his first Chhattisgarh visit in 1920. This “Gandhi Vichar Padyatra’ will be organized in every Block of the state from October 11-17.
