Research Design & Standards Organisation Extra Divisional Hospital has been equipped with the latest Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).The system was inaugurated by Suneet Sharma, CEO & Chairman Railway Board at RDSO, Lucknow in presence of DG RDSO, Sanjiv Bhutani, Ashutosh Gangal General Manager Northern Railway, DRM/Lucknow on 28-08-2021.

This is an advanced software which will facilitate the patients with features like teleconsultation, online registration, prescription, pathology and reports. All the records shall be readily available to the patients, which can be accessed via online portal, from anywhere.

The entire hospital operation including IPD, OPD, Pharmacy, Pathology, will become paperless, this will increase transparency and efficiency.The system has been implemented by RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. along with a Tele-consultation mobile app, which will facilitate the Patients to take consultation from the Doctors online. The patients will be able to access registration, prescription, pathology reports etc, via this mobile app.The HMIS Solution is going to cover the entire gamut of Hospital Administration with around 20 modules that cover Diagnostic, Patient Services and Supporting Modules of Railway Hospitals including OPD, IPD, Labs, Pharmacy, Referral, Medical Examination, medical reimbursement claims Sick-FIT certificates that are relevant for Railways.

During this pandemic time, digitized healthcare is the need of the hour to provide seamless service. RailTel, a miniratna PSU of Indian Railways, has been entrusted with work of implementing Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) at 125 Railway health facilities and 650 polyclinics across India to bring the entire hospital management on a single architecture to provide faster and better healthcare.So far 155 Hospital/ Health units have been provided with HMIS.

Suneet Sharma, CEO & Chairman Railway Board, commended the efforts of the Railway and RailTel staff in implementing of this portal and motivated the all the doctors to make use of the portal and impressed upon the benefits of the Teleconsultation app.
