Belkhiri village of Mungeli district celebrates with great zeal, the succession of their beloved son of soil, Ajay Singh as the supreme authority of state bureaucracy “The Chief Secretary” of Chhattisgarh. Today Chhattisgarh Government has appointed senior IAS officer Ajay Singh as new Chief Secretary of the state. Ajay Singh is an IAS officer of 1983 batch CG cadre. He is presently ACS rank officer in CG.

Recalling the struggle and relented effortfull life of Ajay Singh that eventually reached to the destination. Ajay Singh, born in Fatehnarayan Singh’s family as the second son. His father, Fatehnarayan Singh, a farmer by profession also practiced advocacy for some time. Ajay Singh’s two siblings Dr. Naval Singh and Arvind Singh also reached to heights of their career in Govt services.

Ajay Singh did his education in Belkhuri and Mungeli govt schools and in 1976 Ajay Singh ranked top in 11th class examination making every one amazed. His educational performance indicated his extraordinary talent, a marvellous and promising career was awaiting Ajay Singh.

In 1981 Ajay Singh went to Delhi for his further education, he got selected for IIT and completed his B -Tech (Electronic Engineering) and in the year 1983 he also did his M -Tech (Computer Technology). Marching ahead for his distinguished career he appeared for UPSC and got selected for IAS.

During his posting in undivided (MP-CG) cadre IAS he was posted as Collector and then after Chhattisgarh state was formed, Ajay Singh reshuffled to CG and looked after many key departments in CG before becoming the Chief Secretary of the state.
