New Integrated Terminal Building at Tirupati Airport dedicated to the nation by PM

The New Integrated Terminal Building at Tirupati Airport, Andhra Pradesh has been dedicated to the Nation on 22nd October, 2015 by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India in the august presence of Shri ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh,P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Commerce & Industry and other dignitaries. The Prime Minister took a walk through of the new facility and unveiled plaque in the Arrival area of the building.  While unveiling the plaque of the new facility, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of infrastructure facilities for development of the economy at large.

The New Integrated Terminal Building is capable of handling 700 passengers (500 domestic and 200 international) during the peak hour.  The terminal building has been constructed at a total area of 16500 sqm.  The terminal building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as check-in counters, VIP Lounge, Car Parking, etc.  On the air side of the airport, Apron and taxi track have been constructed.  Apron is capable of parking 03 nos. aircraft.  The New Terminal Building with associated infrastructure has been constructed at a total cost of Rs. 191 crores.  The new facility to a great extent will cater to the passenger facilities be it comfort, convenience, aesthetics, eco-friendliness and so on.  The facility will immensely contribute towards tourism in the State in particular and give impetus to economic development of the region.
