WAPCOS organizes the inaugural ceremony for “Supply and Installation of 1500 Hand Pumps for Augmentation of Rural Water Supply in Cambodia”

WAPCOS Limited and Ministry of Rural Development (MORD), Kingdom of Cambodia organized the inaugural ceremony for “Supply and Installation of 1500 Hand Pumps for Augmentation of Rural Water Supply in Cambodia”Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India extended its support to Royal Government of Cambodia for “Supply and Installation of Hand Pumps for Augmentation of Rural Water Supply in Cambodia” leading to safe drinking water supply and health improvement of the targeted communities. WAPCOS Limited, a Government of India Enterprise and a technology driven Consultancy and EPC organization with strong home country and global presence in the field of Water, Power and Infrastructure sectors, has been entrusted with the work of Installation of 1500 Hand Pumps for augmentation of Rural Water Supply, in Tbong Khmum, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Chhang and Svay Rieng Provinces.

The inaugural ceremony was organized by Ministry of Rural Development (MORD), Kingdom of Cambodia, and WAPCOS Limited on 20th April, 2017, at Kdol Phsar village, Tunlung commune, Memot District, Tbong Khmum Province, Cambodia, at 0900 hrs. This Project was inaugurated by Dr. Ouk Rabun, Minister of Rural Development in presence of Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India, and R.K. Gupta, Chairman cum Managing Director of WAPCOS Limited, India.

Dr. Ouk Rabun, Minister of Rural Development, expressed thanks to the Government of India, for providing assistance in the installation of 1500 hand pumps and conveyed his appreciation for the efforts put in by the officers of WAPCOS in kick starting the project. Naveen Srivastava, Ambassador of India recalled shared culture, heritage between Cambodia & India and also assured that the Government of India will provide necessary assistance in completing the project well within time. Chairman cum Managing Director, WAPCOS expressed that WAPCOS ties with Cambodia are deep rooted by way of sharing a work relationship for more than 15 years and this is the eighth project being implemented.

This inaugural ceremony was also attended by Ms. Pooja Kapoor, Head, Business Development, WAPCOS Ltd., Kausik Das, Country Manager, Cambodia, Ms. Simmi Wadhwa, Dy. CVO, WAPCOS; Ms. Indica, Head (CC), WAPCOS Limited and officers from Rural Water Supply, Rural health care and department of Community Development, Multinational organizations and representatives of local agencies, persons from media and press. The work of WAPCOS was widely appreciated by the dignitaries at the function.
